Sodium formate is one of the simplest organic carboxylates. It is a white crystal or powder with a slight smell of formic acid. Slightly deliquescence and hygroscopicity. CAS NO.:141-53-7.

Sodium formate is mainly used in the production of sodium hydrosulfite, oxalic acid and formic acid. In leather industry, it is used as camouflage acid in chrome tanning process, catalyst and stabilizer, reducing agent in printing and dyeing industry.
